Once started to emege into a pretty younger sister of Bali, the turmoils in Bali tourism related to security issue after consecutive terrorist attacks has significantly affected its sister island of Lombok in an even worse extend. Tourist arrivals to the charming newly discovered paradise which is reachable within only about half an hour flight has been suspended back for years. Cascade of luxurious resort along the coast of Senggigi and Kuta as well as its outer islands known as The Gilis has been quiet from tourist occupancy.
As of Bali's recently returned into its popularity with some new trends - including popularity of private villas as an alternative to public accommodation like resort hotels - Lombok got the same heat as well, obviously in a little slower pace. In addition to rising occupancy of resort hotels, development of Lombok villas started to take place in quite a massive extend, following presence of international brand of developers and realtors.
